Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join their team at a prestigious commercial site in Hertfordshire.

Working Hours
6. Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
7. Participation in on-call rota as required
Key Responsibilities Fabric & Building Maintenance
8. Carry out painting, decorating, tiling, carpentry, plastering, and grouting works
9. Repair and maintain building fixtures including doors, locks, handles, and windows
10. Undertake general fabric maintenance across plant rooms and communal areas
11. Ensure all works are completed to a high-quality standard
Mechanical, Electrical & Compliance Support
12. Replace and maintain lighting systems, including emergency lighting testing
13. Carry out basic electrical works where required
14. Perform fire alarm testing and fire door inspections in line with compliance standards
15. Undertake basic plumbing and drainage duties, including system flushing
16. Support maintenance of building services systems
Inspections & PPM
17. Conduct visual inspections across plant rooms and site areas
18. Support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities
19. Identify and report defects, faults, and maintenance requirements
20. Ensure site safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
Skills & Experience Essential
21. City & Guilds 18th Edition certification (or equivalent electrical awareness)
22. Proven experience in a fabric maintenance or building services environment
23. Strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
24. Ability to carry out multi-skilled fabric repairs and general maintenance tasks
25. Good awareness of Health & Safety and compliance standards
Desirable
26. City & Guilds or BTEC qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar
27. Experience in corporate or head office environments
28. IPAF and/or PASMA certification
29. Additional technical or specialist maintenance training
