Highly Specialist Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist in Cancer Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at one of the UK's largest NHS Trusts. We are looking for a Band 7 Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist who is ready for new challenges or an experienced Band 6 who is seeking promotional opportunities to join our prehabilitation team.

We are pleased to be expanding our well-established team to continue providing a trust wide prehabilitation service. The successful post holder will hold a leading role in the on-going development and running of a multidisciplinary prehabilitation service. The post-holder, supported by the clinical leads, will work alongside a dietician and occupational therapist as well as managing a team of 4 exercise physiologists across the trust to deliver a service that will not only reduce complications from hospital treatment but aim to improve patients' long‑term health as they adopt lifestyle changes. The post-holder will also work closely with the wider multi‑disciplinary teams including surgeons, oncologists, clinical nurse specialists and anaesthetists.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate should be a dedicated, skilled and motivated clinician with a wide breadth of experience in oncology, rehabilitation and the management of long‑term conditions as well as having excellent exercise prescription skills. At Bart's our vision is to be a high‑performing group of NHS hospitals, renowned for excellence and innovation; providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in East London and beyond. That means being a provider of excellent patient safety, known for delivering consistently high standards of care and being an outstanding place to work. For this reason, we recognise the importance of personal and professional development and that it is crucial to the success of our service. We therefore offer a robust teaching and training programme with the opportunity to complete Quality Improvement and Audit projects and we provide a supportive and engaging environment to develop and grow our therapists. As a band 7 you will also have the opportunity to develop your own supervisory and leadership skills through supporting and supervising junior therapists, therapy support workers and students.
