Machinist Location: Langley, Slough Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (on-site) Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year (depending on experience) We’re working with a well-established precision engineering business in Langley, Slough that’s looking to add an experienced Machinist to their busy workshop. This is a hands-on, permanent role for someone who enjoys practical machining work, takes pride in producing quality parts, and likes being part of a close-knit engineering team. If you’re comfortable working with both manual and CNC machines, can read engineering drawings, and enjoy seeing a job done right, this could be a great fit. What you’ll be doing Machining components accurately and efficiently to drawings and specifications Operating manual lathes, CNC lathes (Fanuc), milling machines and bench drills Setting up machines, choosing tooling and adjusting settings to meet tight tolerances Working with a variety of materials including metals, alloys and stainless steel Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, callipers and gauges Checking finished parts to make sure quality and accuracy are spot on Spotting and resolving machining issues as they arise Carrying out basic machine maintenance and reporting any faults Managing your workload to meet production deadlines Working closely with the wider engineering and production team Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe at all times What we’re looking for Previous experience in a machining or engineering manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with manual lathes and CNC lathes (Fanuc), milling machines and drills Confident reading and working from engineering drawings Good understanding of tolerances, measurements and thread forms A strong eye for detail and pride in producing quality work Reliable, punctual and well organised Comfortable working independently but happy to be part of a team Flexible approach, with some overtime when required What’s on offer A permanent role with a stable and growing engineering business Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience Supportive, friendly workshop environment Long-term job security and opportunities to develop your skills If you’re an experienced machinist looking for a solid, long-term role where your skills will be valued, we’d love to hear from you.
