Purchasing Support Specialist
The Purchasing Support Specialist assists in ensuring compliant and effective Purchase to Pay (PTP) processes and the smooth operation of requisition to payment activities. This includes handling purchase order queries, supplier and business communications, and data analysis to drive compliance throughout the processes. A key focus will be driving business user compliance against company policies through auditing, monitoring, and reporting. This role requires strong analytical and influencing skills, with expert knowledge in PTP functions.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures through accurate reporting and assessments.
2. Generating supplier account reports, supervising overdue claims, and supporting risk mitigation efforts.
3. Assisting in the creation and management of purchase orders in line with company guidelines.
4. Identifying and resolving discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and receipts in collaboration with relevant teams.
5. Supporting process improvements and compliance initiatives with internal collaborators.
6. Delivering training and guidance on purchasing compliance and policy adherence.
7. Maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
8. Tracking team metrics and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
9. Supporting onboarding and training of new team members and promoting knowledge sharing.
10. Actively pursuing personal development opportunities and contributing to team success.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Significant experience within Purchase to Pay, including both front-end and back-end processes.
* Experience with Accounts Payable.
* Understanding of the end-to-end requisition to pay process.
* Proven ability to analyze and present data across organizational levels.
* Basic understanding of general ledger/double entry accounting.
* Excellent proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
Key criteria:
* Process improvement mentality.
* Experience working with Finance ERPs (Oracle Fusion advantageous).
* Experience in a Shared Services/GBS environment is helpful.
* Good understanding of accounting principles.
* Excellent requisition to pay knowledge.
