Overview
Are you passionate about early intervention, community wellbeing and improving outcomes for children, young people and families? We are looking for an experienced and motivated Wellbeing and Prevention Coordinator to join our Health and Community Wellbeing Service on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is a key leadership role within Living Well Rutland, with a strong focus on delivering the Best Start in Life agenda and providing operational leadership for Family Hub services, ensuring families receive the right support at the right time.
Responsibilities
* Leading, coordinating and overseeing Family Hub services and community-based provision
* Providing day-to-day line management, supervision and professional support to Community Wellbeing Workers and volunteers operating within Family Hub and community settings
* Planning, coordinating and delivering targeted and bespoke early intervention support for children, young people and families
* Acting as a safeguarding lead and ensuring robust safeguarding practice across the service
* Working closely with partners including Social Care, Family Help, SEND, health and voluntary sector organisations
* Supporting and driving delivery of statutory and strategic priorities, including the Best Start in Life offer, Family Hub development plan and the 0-11 Healthy Child Programme
* Contributing to performance monitoring, evaluation and continuous service improvement
Note: We would be willing to consider a secondment for the right candidate. Candidates are advised to seek permission from their manager prior to applying for the role in this case. The post requires flexible working to meet community needs. A full UK driving licence is required to enable travel around the county. Evening and weekend work may also be required. The successful applicant for the Community and Wellbeing Worker post will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs paid by us. DBS interviews are scheduled for 01 April 2026, subject to change with appropriate notice.
Qualifications
* A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Health and Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field, with relevant professional experience
* Significant experience of direct work with children, young people and families, including both 1:1 and group work
* Experience of line managing staff and/or volunteers, providing supervision and performance management
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Early Help thresholds and multi-agency working
* Experience of coordinating services and working in partnership across statutory and voluntary sectors
* Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
