We are seeking a dynamic Project Lead with a background in the maritime sector or similar to join our busy Greenock dry dock and fabrication facility. This role is ideal for a fabrication workshop or ship repair foreman/supervisor aiming to transition into an office-based position. The successful candidate must possess experience in pricing and estimating small to medium-sized work tasks and fabrication projects. Reporting directly to the Site Operations Manager. As Part Of This Role You Will Read complex engineering drawings. Compile, complete, and present pricing estimates to clients. Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for selling services. Planning and overseeing projects both onsite and in Port, this may necessitate the requirement to travel. Agree contract/project objectives and scopes of work with clients. Supervise large squads of multiple trades in the completion of complex scopes of repair works, including steelwork, piping & general engineering. While also organising, various sub-contractors carrying out on site works. Organise various sub-contractors for on-site works. Understand other trades within the ship repair environment, such as outfitting, painting, engines, hydraulics and electrical as these can often form minor parts of the project scopes. Ensure project time and budget requirements are met. Produce completed project reports in different formats. Understand pricing structures and price scopes of work in the required formats. Liaise with the customer to find solutions to problems within the time constraints of the refit periods. Demonstrate a high commitment to Health and Safety on all our sites and those of our clients. The Successful Candidate Should Ideally Meet The Following Requirements A background in Oil & Gas, Renewables, Large Fabrication Projects or offshore vessels would be advantageous. Service Company Experience, ideally, you've worked with service companies, particularly those dealing with vessels, marine equipment, maintenance, or overhauls. Knowledge of steelwork, and marine engineering systems would be an asset. Familiarity with the renewable aspects of the marine industry will give you a competitive edge. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word at an intermediate/advanced level. Right to work in the UK. Ability to work in a busy and challenging repair shipyard/dry dock environment. Weekday overtime and weekend working during the yard’s normal hours of operation. Willingness to travel to other yards operated by the company or remote locations dictated by the customer.
