We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join ourteam at HMP Onley, a category C mens Prison located in Rugby.

Hours

The site currently offers a three week rolling rota, one weekend in four.

9 hour shifts.

no nights required.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.


What you'll be doing


As a Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

* Assist the mental health team in the delivery of immediate and, where appropriate, ongoing care for patients referred to the mental health team.
* You will be expected to support people to access care and treatment appropriately within the prison setting, working independently with lone working at times.
* You will contribute to the positive and aspirational workings of the integrated mental health care team, ensuring that each and every patient is treated with care, respect and dignity.
* You will also provide assistance with delivery of mental healthcare needs, within the Healthcare Department.
* promote safe patient care
* develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

* NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Previous experience as a mental health support worker.
* You'll have the ability to treat service users with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach, which considers the needs of the whole person.
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
