Overview
Join to apply for the Mechanical Engineer role at Ibstock Plc. The successful candidate will provide plant-wide maintenance service, departmental support and mechanical repairs to ensure that production targets are maintained. The shift pattern is a 5 on 5 off day and night, 12-hour shifts (5,5,4), with option of overtime.
Responsibilities
* Provide plant-wide maintenance service, departmental support and mechanical repairs to maintain production targets.
* Monitor and supply engineering support for machine set-up and changeovers to ensure product quality and efficient changeovers.
* Daily liaison with the Engineering Manager/Technical & Production Manager to undertake maintenance requirements.
* Promote the development and implementation of the Factory IMS & CMMS system.
* Design, fabrication and machining of parts and structures to service the needs of the business.
* Apply TPM tools & techniques to generate Continuous Improvement throughout the Factory.
* Apply the 5S principles to deliver world-class standards of housekeeping.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (Advanced) and Qualification; completed an apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechanical bias or dual discipline).
* Time Served, Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical), Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical), Mechatronics (Mechanical) or equivalent.
* Pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, gearboxes and industrial mechanical skills; welding skills would be an advantage.
* High degree of Health & Safety awareness; ability to fault-find, repair and provide solutions.
* Maintenance experience and fault diagnosis of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems; knowledge of Welding / Basic Fabrication.
* Computer literate in MS Word and Excel; knowledge of basic continuous improvement tools and techniques.
* Good knowledge of current Health and Safety Law and best practice in a manufacturing environment.
