Simply Education is looking for passionate individuals to join several institutions in Leicestershire that provide education for children aged 3-11 years with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and SEMH. The roles are available for both short-term and long-term placements, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to teachers by assisting with lesson planning, preparing classroom materials, and implementing lessons.
2. Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce learning and provide academic support.
3. Assist with classroom management and behaviour intervention.
4. Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student progress.
5. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
6. Build and nurture positive relationships with staff and students.
7. Foster an inclusive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with SEN in either employed or voluntary settings.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car, as carpooling students is required on a rota basis.
* A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent (desirable).
* GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
* Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
* Knowledge or experience working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
* A commitment to prioritising the child and treating each as an individual.
* A positive, creative approach to meeting pupils’ needs.
