Job summary This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria. The post holder will be a senior registered Nurse / Allied Health Professional or Social Worker with highly developed experience and knowledge of the Care Act 2014 safeguarding process and relevant legislation, to include Prevent and the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS; and experience in undertaking safeguarding reviews. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Nursing for Safeguarding and other members of the safeguarding senior leadership team to determine the strategic direction of the all-age safeguarding service within University Hospitals Sussex; and to ensure the trust meets its statutory responsibilities with regards to safeguarding those who have care and support needs and are unable to protect themselves from abuse or neglect Main duties of the job The post holder will represent University Hospitals Sussex at external safeguarding meetings as appropriate providing advice on health matters with regard to safeguarding adults in the acute hospital setting.To undertake Individual Management Reviews and provide information regarding care provided by University Hospitals Sussex in a timely manner, when requested by the Safeguarding Adults Boards (SAB) as part of statutory Safeguarding Adults Reviews and Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews. To deputise for the Head of Nursing of Nursing for Safeguarding Adults at the West Sussex SAB and associated sub groups, and other external meetings as requiredTo work collaboratively with other members of the safeguarding team, ensuring the development and implementation of comprehensive training for clinical and non-clinical staff in line with NHS competency frameworks for safeguarding adults including Prevent, and Mental Capacity Act and DoLS.The post holder will be based across Worthing and St Richards Hospital sites but will be expected to provide safeguarding leadership and support across all University Hospital sites, with occasional travel required as a trust wide team.
