CNC Setter/Operator (Milling)
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
Hours: Day Shift (Monday - Friday)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering company based in Gloucester, specialising in high-quality machined components for a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, and defence. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to their dedicated team.
The Role
As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. You'll work from technical drawings, ensure quality standards are met, and contribute to continuous improvement within the machining department.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC milling machines
Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
Inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
Perform basic machine maintenance and tool changes
Work to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
Support team leaders and colleagues to improve machining processes
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) in a precision engineering environment
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
Ability to use manual measuring equipment confidently
Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Mazak controls (advantageous)
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
