Home Based in the London area - with at least two days per week in London
Secondment contract considered

Are you passionate about creating opportunities for young people to grow, lead, and thrive? If you have experience managing programmes or supporting multiple long-term projects, this is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of girls across the UK. The Youth Sport Trust is all about changing young people’s lives through sport. We are skilled in the use of physical education, physical activity and sport to unlock all young people’s potential. Now, we are looking for a Development Officer to join us in delivering Girls United—a leadership and empowerment programme for girls aged 11–16 in underserved communities in London, delivered through a two-year Lottery-funded partnership with StreetGames.

StreetGames is a UK charity on a mission to bring sport to young people’s doorsteps. We know Sport has the power to make young people safer, happier and healthier, but low-income households and underserved communities often miss out. Together with our network of 1600 community partners, we’re providing equal opportunities through sport. We believe every young person should have the chance to participate.

In this role, you will bring people and programmes together to create meaningful opportunities for girls to lead, learn, and inspire. You will coordinate all aspects of Girls United, working closely with Youth Sport Trust and StreetGames networks to collaborate with and build local networks of teachers, mentors, community partners, and the girls themselves, ensuring that every part of the programme is informed by young people’s voices. You will oversee the project board, manage KPIs and milestones, maintain relationships with local and national partners, and share the learning and impact of the programme widely. Your expertise in programme management, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery will be key to helping girls thrive and communities flourish.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of managing long-term, complex projects—ideally within schools, sport, or community settings—who is highly organised, communicates with clarity, and can respond flexibly to changing needs. Experience with budgets, reporting, and coordinating multiple partners will ensure your success in this role, while knowledge of management information systems will be an advantage.

Joining the Youth Sport Trust means being part of a team that values creativity, passion, and innovation. You will be making a tangible difference every day, while enjoying a supportive and collaborative environment with generous annual leave, a health cash plan, an employee assistance programme, and volunteering days. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to shape futures, empower girls, and be part of a movement that changes lives.

If you have the skills to support our work and share our passionate belief in the benefits of sport for young people, we would like to hear from you. To apply please visit
