About the role
The Governors wish to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work with staff and pupils. The successful candidate is expected to work with groups and individuals to ensure the wellbeing and progress of all pupils.
This is a full‑time vacancy for a period of one year and to start as soon as possible.
Llangwyryfon Primary School is a school for ages 4‑11, with 24 pupils on roll. Our vision is to provide opportunities and access to a broad, engaging and inspiring curriculum to develop independent, effective, enthusiastic, bilingual learners and prepare them to be lifelong learners.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and support all pupils ensuring they are safe and have access to learning;
* Provide pupils with feedback on progress, achievement, behaviour and attendance;
* Promote inclusion and acceptance for all pupils;
* Encourage pupils to interact with others and to participate in teacher‑led activities;
* Encourage pupils to act independently, as appropriate;
* Support the teacher with class preparations, being aware of pupils’ problems/progress/achievements and keeping pupil records as requested;
Qualifications
* Robust numeracy, literacy and ICT skills;
* Participate in development and training opportunities;
* Work constructively and flexibly as part of a team, understand the responsibilities and functions of the classroom and your personal position within those functions;
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy environment, using their initiative, with a positive outlook and a genuine interest in supporting the pupils’ learning needs while embracing the challenges of the classroom and the world of education.
The successful candidate will need to register with the Education Workforce Council in order to be appointed to this position.
