Senior Estimator (Drywall)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor specialising in drylining and internal fit-out works across London and the South East. The business delivers high quality internal packages including drylining, plastering, suspended ceilings, screeds and more on a range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare and residential projects.
As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Senior Estimator ideally with significant drywall and internal works estimating experience to join the team.
The Role
You will play a key part in the estimating team, responsible for accurately pricing drylining and related internal works packages from tender stage through to submission. You’ll work closely with project managers and directors to prepare clear, competitive and compliant bids, and support the continued development of estimation processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for drylining and internal fit-out works
* Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope and risks
* Produce pricing breakdowns, take-offs and BOQs
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and value engineering options
* Support bid presentations and clarification queries
* Assist with bid strategy and margin setting
* Drive consistency and best practice within the estimating team
* Build relationships with clients
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a strong focus on drylining/drywall and internal finishes.
* Excellent understanding of drylining systems, plasterboard partitioning, ceilings, screeds and associated internal works.
* Experience in related finishes such as decorating, tiling or flooring would also be suitable for this position.
* Accurate measurement and take-off skills
* Confident commercial acumen and strong maths ability
* Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office
* CSCS or equivalent, and ability to visit sites where required
