Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist neurological service supporting adults with acquired brain injury, progressive neurological conditions, and co-occurring mental health or complex physical health needs. This is a clinically rich role working within a 38-bed centre supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience + £8,400 car allowance + £8,000 bonus
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Neuropsychiatric inpatient – ABI & complex neurological conditions
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
Your key responsibilities will be;
* Lead MDT meetings and psychiatric care planning
* Manage admissions, including complex referrals from secure settings
* Oversee Mental Health Act and DoLS processes
* Support junior staff through clinical supervision
* Deliver audits, clinical governance, and service improvement
* Contribute to risk management and discharge planning
* Engage in ongoing CPD and contribute to research projects
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
• Full GMC registration with licence to practice
• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
• Experience in neuropsychiatry or complex inpatient care
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Understanding of current mental health legislation and governance
• Specialist reg ideally with S12/AC
