We are seeking a Recruitment Reporting Analyst to lead a team of data professionals and support with the development of data processes, designed to enhance planning, reporting and delivery across all recruitment teams.
Job description
This is a data-focused management role within recruitment, requiring advanced analytical skills and experience in reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality recruitment data insights to support strategic decision-making.
Your expertise in data analysis and reporting will be essential as you work with recruitment teams to build their data capabilities. You'll work on multiple projects, maintain data accuracy, and provide insights which will be used to support senior leaders. Using tools like Power BI, advanced Excel functions and automation, you'll be responsible for improving our use of data using your data expertise.
You'll be supporting with the teams three main priorities:
1) Providing UBS Recruitment Teams with team level data requests
2) Producing KPI metrics and supporting the Data Manager with business level data and analysis
3) Supporting the Senior Recruitment Analyst to produce meaningful forecasting insights
This will require:
• A data professional with proven experience in a similar role, designing new reporting metrics, analysing data and producing reports at varying rates of complexity
• Understanding the different recruitment processes across each team to make recommendations for data collation and reporting
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work to deadlines, maintaining and analysing recruitment data and ensuring accuracy
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be proactive and work independently to ensure outputs are delivered as required
• Leading and coaching a team of Data and Reporting Officers to produce regular reports and respond to all ad-hoc data requests
The Recruitment Reporting Analyst role will also encompass ad-hoc data and reporting tasks related to UBS recruitment and any related projects.
The role requires someone who is confident working with data, enjoys problem-solving, and can translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Person specification
In this role you will be required to:
* Lead, motivate and support your team to collaboratively drive performance and deliver business priorities, KPIs and SLAs.
* Personally deliver complex reporting and analysis alongside other managers within the Recruitment Planning and Reporting Team.
* Guide the team to produce accurate and timely data reports, coaching and supporting them to maintain quality standards.
* Work with stakeholders to clarify reporting requirements and advise on the most relevant data sources and formats.
* Make recommendations on managing and flexing recruitment resources based on data insights.
* Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes and enhance data quality.
* Upskill recruitment teams in data literacy and the importance of accurate data entry and usage.
* Promote confidence in managing change and forecasting, while role-modelling Civil Service values and behaviours.
* Strong decision-making skills to evaluate and respond to new and ad-hoc data and reporting requests.
* Ability to manage team workloads, prioritise tasks and support performance management.
* Experience of managing resource, planning, and performance across a large operational area.
* Willingness to undertake learning in digital tools and programmes to support continuous improvement.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver through others to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and proactively seek and create data solutions.

You will play a key role in managing and responding to data requests, acting as the first point of contact for assessing feasibility and relevance. This includes evaluating whether the request aligns with team priorities, determining data availability, and identifying opportunities to add value through insights or recommendations. You'll take ownership of these requests, ensuring they are handled effectively and efficiently, while also supporting the development of team capability - empowering colleagues to manage similar requests independently over time.
Essential Criteria:
We are looking for:
• Proven experience in data analysis, insight generation and reporting across varied datasets.
• Ability to build and maintain Power BI dashboards to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables and data transformation tools.
• Experience of producing, analysing and reporting on recruitment or HR data.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
Desirable Criteria:
• Experience in public sector recruitment.
• Ability to extract data from an applicant tracking system (ATS).

* A Civil Servant Numerical Test. After submission of the first stage of your application, you will be invited to complete a CS Numerical test. * A 250-word statement to demonstrate your Technical Skill; Tell us about a specific time when your analytical skills made a measurable difference to a project or decision. Your response should include:
- The problem or opportunity you identified through data analysis.
- How you used tools, like Power BI and Excel, to explore and communicate your findings.
- What actions were taken as a result and what impact they had.
We're particularly interested in how you worked with varied datasets, applied numerical and problem-solving skills, and ensured accuracy and attention to details throughout.

Interview
During the panel interview, you will be asked a Behaviour-based question, a Strength-based question, and some Experience-based questions to further explore your abilities relevant to the role.

There is no expectation or requirement for you to prepare for the strengths-based questions in advance of the interview, though you may find it helpful to spend some time reflecting on what you enjoy doing and what you do well.
