We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our community healthcare team. As a Healthcare Assistant in the Community, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals in their homes and local communities. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Role involves being a Lone worker, travelling around the local community to patients’ home/residential homes
- Advanced wound care
- Routine Injection techniques, Diabetic monitoring and venepuncture
- Assisting with medication management under supervision
- Monitoring and recording vital signs and reporting any changes
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
Main duties of the job
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a community or home care setting (Band 3)
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care
- Compassionate and patient-centred approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle essential

Additional Working Pattern: Between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 weekends

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ/ QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship) or equivalent or working towards Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
Experience
Essential criteria
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Healthcare Assistant/ Worker in a health or social care setting Experience of working as part of a team Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (Easy Expenses/ E-roster/ TAPS/ RIO)
Desirable criteria
3. Experience of community nursing environment
Knowledge

4. Awareness of developments in the NHS Knowledge of up to date clinical practice. Understands the role and remit of Unregistered worker
