Mortgage Compliance Quality Assurance Officer
Fast growing Mortgage Brokerage firm looking for a Compliance officer to join its team. The role is ideal for either a mortgage broker looking for a new challenge or candidates with strong organisational and analytical skills looking to get into financial service sector. The role has either option to be based in London or Luton and has flexibility to be a hybrid role.
Key responsibilities
· Complete 1-2-1s and observations.
· Complete reviews of mortgage & insurance cases, provide feedback on risks, shortfalls or potential fraud for adviser action
· Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements
· Assessment of client files to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
· Provide compliant guidance and support to staff and Appointed Representatives.
· Monitor AR competence records (CPD) and provide feedback
· Help with training and providing support to new and existing staff.
· Review sales promotions & documentation and provide feedback/guidance as required
· Prepare and submit regulatory reports to relevant authorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the organisation's operations.
· Support the staff with how to handle customer complaints & the process for escalation to the 2nd Line Compliance Team.
· Accurately record any findings and corrective activity.
· Manage general compliance tasks for the company.
· Embrace company values and promote them effectively.

· Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
· Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
· Previous mortgage file reviewing or adviser experience
· Experience of providing one to one feedback around compliance or receiving one to one feedback around compliance as a mortgage adviser
· Ability to prepare reports, create and interpret MI
· A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management
· Assertive communicator
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
* Background in banking, regulatory reporting, and compliance management
* Experience in conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with industry regulations
* Preferably CEMAP qualified.
* Excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Professional certifications in compliance or related field are a plus
Hours are 9am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Benefits include generous quarterly and annual discretionary bonus, scope of working from home, contributory pension scheme, 20 days annual leave (please note office is closed on all bank holidays and extended period during Christmas & New year period).
