Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Supervisor to oversee operations during the night shift. The ideal candidate will support the Quality & Hygiene Manager to drive standards and ensure that company KPI's and hygiene standards are met and maintained and Quality Management systems are implemented, improved and compliant to customer requirements; the candidate will also be required to take an active role in implementation of the company business Health & Safety protocols and food safety culture.
Direct Reports: Night hygiene operatives
Work in collaboration with: Production Manager, cookhouse supervisor, cookhouse operatives, night hygiene operatives, packing hall supervisor, quality and Hygiene manager
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining and improving hygiene standards
* Continuously assessing and enhancing hygiene protocols across the site to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness
* Delegating tasks and supervising - effectively assigning responsibilities to the hygiene team, ensuring tasks are completed with precision and efficiency
* Adherence to schedule: strictly adhering to the established cleaning schedule and promptly reporting any concerns regarding schedule deviations to the Quality & Hygiene Manager
* Scheduled swabbing: conducting routine swabbing activities to monitor and verify the effectiveness of cleaning procedures
* Post clean inspections: performing thorough inspections following cleaning activities to guarantee that standards are met and maintained
* New starter training: facilitating training sessions for new team members, ensuring they are well-versed in hygiene protocols and procedures
* Administrative duties: managing administrative tasks such as completion of relevant paperwork, stock taking if hygiene equipment and chemicals
* Liaising with other department heads: communicating / collaborating with heads of other departments, operations, engineering etc, to optimize operational processes and ensure seamless interdepartmental communication
* Provide cover the night shift production supervisor in the event of absence / holidays
* Equipment inspection: regularly inspecting hygiene equipment for faults, ensuring it meets safety standards before use
* Daily area inspections: conducting daily inspections of work areas, verifying full compliance with required hygiene standards
* Audit preparation: preparing for audits by paying meticulous attention to detail in hygiene standards and documentation and ensuring all necessary records are up to date
Experience and Skills Required
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Computer literate, including Microsoft applications
* Effective communication skills, written and orally, at all levels within the business
* Understanding of HACCP
* Understanding of COSHH
* Level 2 Food Hygiene Certification
* Flexibility
* Hands on team player
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £15.77 per hour
