Newly Qualified Salaried General Practitioner
Thepost holder will be employed by Greenwich Health the GP Federation inGreenwich. Greenwich has 7 primary care networks (PCNS) with list sizes ofbetween 30-80,000 patients. The Post holder will work for Riverview Health PCN,a grouping of 5 practices.
Dueto the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners, we arelooking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualified GeneralPractitioner (you must be within 2years of certificate of completion of training at the start of employment) towork alongside our practices and PCN staff.
The GP will perform as anautonomous general practitioner working independently and with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patientsattending within a primary care setting. Provide expert professional advice topatients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinicalexcellence. To be professionally accountable and responsible for all elementsof clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring thesafety of patients and quality of their care is primary.
The role may also involve the following:
-To be involved in the provision of education andtraining to GP Registrars and other staff.
-To work in PCN wide schemes/services includingsome extended hours and some potential hub working.
The post holder will need to becapable of independent travel across the Greenwich Borough and work flexibly tomeet the needs of the Business.
Main duties of the job
- The post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety ofduties including surgery and online consultations, telephone consultations and queries,visiting patients at home, checking and signing/authorising repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in atimely fashion.
-Screening patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illness
-In consultation with patients and in line withcurrent practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
-Providingcounselling and health education
-Admittingor discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate
-Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
-Compilingand issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
-Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriate
-Thepost-holder will be required to visit patients during surgery time in anemergency if clinically indicated.
-Thepost-holder will undertake a fair % of On Call sessions per week as allocatedon the practice rota and participate in the extended hours enhanced service.
-Thepost-holder will undertake fair share of home visiting sessions per week asallocated.
