Main duties of the job
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of undertaking a demanding workload. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS would be advantageous. Knowledge of e-Record would be desirable. Full training will be given.

Job responsibilities
* To support the provision of an efficient reception / patient records / admin and clerical service within the operational services department.
* To ensure patient documents are prepared, updated and delivered to the ward in a timely manner.
* Provide information to patients, relatives and staff.
* Deal with telephone enquires promptly.
* To provide assistance and guidance to the patients/visitors on arrival to the Hospital.
* To contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
* To ensure that data input is amended as necessary to comply with departmental target requirements.
Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE
* NHS software packages - Knowledge of e-Record System
SKILLS
* Keyboard skills with a sound knowledge of computers
* Good communication skills both written verbal and telephone skills
EXPERIENCE
* Experience working in a patient/public environment in an administration or clerical role
* Previous experience working within the NHS
QUALIFICATIONS
* Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent at grade 4 or above or equivalent or equivalent level experience
