Mersey Care currently have 8 Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and Walk In Centres working across Liverpool, Knowsley and Sefton. An exciting opportunity has arisen working within our team - The vacancy will be primarily based at Garston UTC, however staff are expected to be flexible and able to work across all 8 sites.

We offer offer access to treatment and advice for minor illnesses and injuries.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to have the chance to develop excellent clinical skills with autonomous and highly skilled professionals.

We are currently open 365 days a year from 7.30am-8.30pm daily.

Essential criteria must be met for shortlisting.


Main duties of the job

We would be expecting the successful candidate to be increasing their clinical skills to include the assessment care and treatment of conditions such as minor infections and rashes, fractures and lacerations, emergency contraception, stomach upsets, superficial cuts and bruises, minor burns and strains.

Job responsibilities

Assessment, treatment and discharge of patients requiring same day urgent care treatment

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of clinical care to a defined population.

Supported by senior practitioners, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role.

They will work effectively and collaboratively within the team to meet the needs of patients, support the delivery of policy and procedures and provide clinical leadership.

Ensure the delivery of the quality strategy within the designated area incorporating establishment ofsystems and processes.

* Awareness of Clinical Governance, patient group directions and associated policies
* Understanding of audit process
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
* IT literate
* Work as member of a team
* Ability to travel to work across boundaries.
* Understanding of local and national quality initiatives.

Knowledge/Experience

* Evidence of clinical experience in relevant field.

Qualifications

* Registered Practitioner
* Mentor/ teaching qualification, or equivalent, or equivalent work-based experience.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£31,049 to £37,796 a yearper annum / pro rata
