Key Responsibilities:
* Assist patients with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
* Support patients with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, chairs, and using mobility aids.
* Take and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) under the supervision of qualified staff.
* Maintain patient hygiene and assist with pressure area care and prevention.
* Accurately document care provided in patient records, adhering to confidentiality and information governance protocols.
* Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and relatives.
* Assist with meal preparation, serving meals, and monitoring nutritional intake.
* Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
* Maintain a clean and safe patient environment in accordance with infection control procedures.
* Support nurses with clinical duties such as wound care preparation, equipment setup, and chaperoning.
* Escort patients to other departments within the hospital as required.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant (within the NHS or hospital setting).
* Understanding of infection control, patient safety, and safeguarding.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused approach.
* Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Flexibility to work across various shifts, including weekends and nights if required.
* Must have Immunisation records (HEP - B, MMR and TB)
* Must have Hospital experience in UK
Desirable Experience:
* Experience in acute care, elderly care, or high-dependency units.
* Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (e.g., SystemOne, EPIC).
