With a growing portfolio of projects, the firm is actively seeking a Design Engineer (Water) to help deliver developments across the region.This well-established consultancy has significantly influenced the industry, contributing to landmark projects and shaping professional careers. Their multidisciplinary expertise spans Architecture, Engineering, and Project Management, with a strong presence in sectors such as Wastewater, Urban Regeneration, Residential, Sports and Leisure, Healthcare, Science and Technology, and Tourism.
Your new role
The successful candidate will join an established team with strong leadership and mentoring abilities to work on a range of projects.
As a Design Engineer (Water), their key responsibilities within the Water Design and Build Team will include:
1. Scoping all surveys required for design, including planning, ecology, topographical, geotechnical investigations, and road condition surveys.
2. Preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed design solutions for watermains and water booster pumping stations projects.
3. Liaising and coordinating with other design team members, both in-house, contractors, clients, and external consultants.
4. Attending design team meetings and client liaison meetings as appropriate.
5. Preparation of drawing lists, programs, and specifications using Microsoft Office software.
6. Undertaking other relevant engineering duties as required by the local office.
7. This role involves contributing to essential water infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient and effective delivery for contracting partners.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this Design Engineering (Water) role, candidates should possess an engineering qualification, preferably a degree in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering.
The ideal candidate would have:2–5 years of experience working within a civil design team.Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with specialist software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, Civil 3D, or BIM.The ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate well within a multidisciplinary team.
