Johnson & Johnson MedTech Orthopaedics is seeking a Development Engineer based in Leeds, UK.

The process is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements and regulatory approvals. Following the transaction, the successful candidate will be an employee of DePuy Synthes.

Responsibilities
* Provide design inputs and outputs, manage materials selection, and oversee biocompatibility risk management and verification & validation activities.
* Support product testing with protocol and test method development.
* Collaborate across multiple functions and geographies; apply analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making skills at all levels.
* Support the development of multiple new product codes with differing technologies across the external supply base.
* Work with the design team to provide DFX (manufacturing, assembly and cost) input and translate product design inputs into product and process outputs.
* Develop and qualify complex tolerance analysis for product assemblies.
* Perform process characterizations, design of experiments (DOE) and optimizations using statistical techniques.
Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
* Experience in a Product Development role is required.
* Engineering design development and analysis skills.
* Strong project management and communication skills with a proven track record of leading development projects through to completion.
* Expertise in delivery of design history file generation and associated documentation such as technical reports, test reports and risk management.
* Applied Process Excellence/Design Excellence, LEAN and Value Engineering experience; formal Green Belt/Black Belt certification is an advantage.
* Analytical simulation skills with practical use of MATLAB or ANSYS advantageous.
* Proficiency in CAD techniques, rapid and conventional prototyping, and other relevant manufacturing technologies.
* Experience working in new product development projects and partnering with design teams.
* Required Experience: IC.
