* You are required to live within a reasonable distance to the depot you are applying for. We will review your postcode as part of the screening process, and your application will be withdrawn if it does not satisfy the required criteria.
* You will work an average of 35 hours per week, and shifts are over a 24-hour period.This position will require you to work a combination of shifts which includes early starts, late finishes, weekend, and bank holiday working
* You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
* Applicants must be over 21 years of age
* Employment is subject to Right to Work and DBS checks and a safety-critical medical check (eyesight, colour vision, hearing and fitness)
* Anglia Progression Rate: £29,855, £46,248, £52,415 and £61,664 per annum
* Please note that you will not be able to take annual leave in the first six months of training.

Full training and a uniform are provided upon joining.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

* Operate trains in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all Rules & Regulations.
* Ensure punctuality and reliability of train services to give our customer the very best service.
* Communicate effectively with team members and other railway interfaces for seamless service delivery.
* Collaborate with colleagues to maintain operational standards and service quality.
* Monitor train performance and respond to any issues that may arise during service.
Training & Development
If you have the right behaviours and attributes, we will provide you the training for you to be an effective part of our community working as a Trainee Train Driver, this includes enrolling you onto the Level 3 Driver Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship has fast become the industry standard for new starter drivers and is nationally recognised.



Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We’re Looking for Candidates Who:
* Have a friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively dealing with both customers and colleagues alike
* Are calm under pressure, able to think on their feet, and able to handle various situations with the willingness to accept the high level of responsibility associated with the role
* Possess a “can-do” attitude with the ability to work well on their own
* A problem solver, as the role will encounter many different situations, whilst always maintaining integrity.
* Possess solid concentration skills which are highly required for this role.
* Live within a reasonable distance to the depot you are applying for.

Greater Anglia operates a busy railway network between London Liverpool Street and the east of England. With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Greater Anglia also operate Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.

Roles on the railway are very varied with everything possible from train driving, customer service, being involved with engineering, working in our control room or being part of the HR, finance, marketing, safety, train planning, or communications teams.
