School CaretakerLocation: Ashburton, DevonSalary: £13.90 - £14.82 per hourJob Type: Part-time (18.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year)
We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our team across the Trust, based in Ashburton. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of our facilities, working closely with designated cleaning teams and interacting with all school staff, pupils, parents, and the Trust estates team.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Oversee the daily upkeep and safety of the school premises.
* Coordinate and manage designated cleaning teams to ensure all areas are maintained to high standards.
* Conduct regular safety checks and maintenance tasks to ensure the environment is safe for pupils, staff, and visitors.
* Set up facilities for school events and activities as required.
* Manage the storage and inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
* Respond to and report any security or safety concerns promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in caretaking or facilities management, preferably in an educational setting.
* Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to manage and coordinate teams effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building good relationships with all school stakeholders.
* Practical knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks.
* Flexible and reliable with the ability to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
