We want every McDonald's customer to have a brilliant experience, every time they visit. That means hot food in a clean and friendly restaurant.
As a Trainee shift manager you will receive training on a fast track programme. For the first 6 months this will include preparing food, serving on the till or being out in the dining areas looking after our customers' needs. You will consistently deliver the highest standards of quality, service and cleanliness in the restaurant. Provide friendly, fast and accurate service. Complete tasks and activities in line with training, company guidelines and management direction. Follow all workplace safety, security and food hygiene procedures. Treat all customers and colleagues with courtesy and respect working as a supportive team member. As long as your progress at the required speed you will become part of the crew trainer team within 6 months of starting with us. Once a successful crew trainer if you still show the desire to progress you will be enrolled on our shift management development program which should take approx. 3-6 months to complete as long as you progress at the expected speed. Meaning within 9-12 months you could be a qualified shift leader. At this point you hourly rate will increase to a minimum of £13.50 per hour
As a Shift Leader your job will be working within your restaurant delivering outstanding hospitality, Service and Cleanliness to our customers, giving them a great experience and going that extra mile to make their visit special so they leave happier. As part of the management team you will drive the restaurant forward by building sales, growing profitability, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. All while maintaining, engaging and leading your team, keeping the McDonald’s Values alive in the restaurant and at the heart of everything you do. You will lead your team, exhibiting positive characteristics and behaviours. Providing a platform for listening to create a safe, respectful and inclusive working environment.
You’ll be responsible for managing shifts across all day parts as well as responsibility for areas of your restaurant’s PACE systems including, People, Food Safety, Training, Scheduling and more…While supporting the Business Manager you will demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of service by consistently observing restaurant operations, troubleshooting problems, taking on-the- spot corrective actions, and recognising successes. You’ll need to be someone who lives our values, has great communication and good people skills. On top of that you’re the type of person who really commits and always looks for what they can learn from others. As this is a people-led business, we want you to be a good listener and a great teammate who is adaptable, open to change and always considers the needs of the customer and employees.
