WWT Castle Espie has an excellent reputation for its outdoor, enquiry based, interactive learning sessions. Coupled with the centre’s exciting populations of birds, visits are memorable, enjoyable and support the school curriculum in many areas.
As part of the Learning team, you will assist with the preparation, delivery and monitoring of guided learning sessions for school groups from Pre-school to KS2, working with a small group of volunteers. You will also be called upon to provide engagement activities for the general visiting public during holiday periods and weekends and to cover birthday parties.
This is a casual position and hours are offered and worked on an ad-hoc basis as and when required.
About You
To join our friendly team as a Casual Learning Assistant you'll bring:
* a good basic education with minimum of 2 A’ Levels or equivalent.
* relevant experience of working with groups of children under 11.
* experience of working in a public facing role.
* a background in environmental education.
* experience of delivering events & education programmes to a variety of groups to ensure interactive learning.
