About The Role JOB TITLE: Cleaning Operative REPORTING TO: Project Manager DIVISION: Building South CONTRACT: Fixed Term (Initial 12month), Full time (39hrs p/w) LOCATION: New Childrens Hospital, Belfast Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Operative, who will deliver high standards on our busy construction site, ensuring site offices and welfare units are thoroughly cleansed and kept neat and tidy. You will be self-motivated and will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, using your own initiative. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and previous practical experience in a cleaning role are essential. This is initially a 12month Fixed term contract, with the potential to extend. Flexible start and finish times to be discussed. Job Description Overview of Duties: Maintain cleanliness of site office, toilets and welfare units by vacuuming, sweeping and mopping. Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and polish relevant surfaces. Ensure litter and waste is removed and disposed of correctly at the designated collection points. Clean all sanitary facilities. Replenish supplies such as toilet rolls, soap, and hand towels. Adhere to health and safety guidelines Use and care for any cleaning equipment issued in an appropriate and safe manner Report any maintenance or repair issues Complete any necessary paperwork This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the Site Cleaning Operative and the range of duties to be undertaken. Person Specification Technical Competencies Essential Previous experience in a similar Cleaning Operative role Understanding of health and safety requirements relating to cleaning appliances and products Ability to work alone and manage time effectively Desirable Knowledge of a construction environment Desirable Behavioural Competencies Planning and Prioritising: Plans and prioritises around departmental/team objectives. Able to spot opportunities and problems in the medium and long term and develop new approaches. Has a strong attention to detail with consistently accurate results. Ability to work under pressure to conform to deadlines. Effective Communication Skills: Good communication and organisational skills.
