The Role The Quality Control (QC) function plays a critical role in ensuring that JFD’s lifesaving products and services consistently meet the highest standards. This includes compliance with international and industry regulations, as well as specific customer and government requirements. As a QC professional at JFD, you will be responsible for witnessing and verifying product and service testing at key inspection hold points, such as blacklight testing and control system verification. Your role will also involve conducting internal audits and supporting quality assurance throughout the production process. This is a pivotal position that helps uphold JFD’s commitment to excellence—ensuring every product and service we deliver meets expectations and earns customer trust. This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their career that is keen to learn or looking to pivot into a quality-focused position within a highly regulated, safety-critical industry. Principle Accountabilities Carry out inspection on incoming goods (including batch sampling) and outgoing goods, witness production and third-party tests, workstation audits Document quality issues, raise non-conformances and other concerns, sign off QA inspection hold points Communicate with suppliers when investigating supplier quality issues and address in a timely manner, proactively and professionally engaging production, and engineering as required Assist QA as required, including stretch support and proactively and professionally liaise with relevant internal JFD departments. Contribution to company and departmental goals and objectives Investigate product quality incidents and customer complaints and ensure corrective action follow up Operate the magnetic ranging facility and interrogate equipment within specified timeframes Quality process, procedure, and documentation development, any other tasks that are reasonably within the remit of the role Actively engage in contributing and promoting a positive HSE&S culture to deliver performance, improvements and continually reduce risk, eliminate hazards where possible and prevent injury or ill health whether to themselves or to others who may be affected by their work Empowered to remove themselves from work situations that they consider present an imminent and serious danger to their life or health. To speak out or stop any work if they believe it to be unsafe Ensure your actions or inactions do not adversely affect your or others health and safety, including to those that use our products or services Qualifications and Experience QC or technical inspection experience advantageous (workshop or production environment) Familiarity with inspection tools (micrometres, verniers, CMM – desirable) Ability to interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings Good knowledge of quality standards and practices (incl.
