Accounts Assistant We are seeking a proactive and organised Temporary Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team with a chance of becoming permanent. This role is fully office-based, working 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm, and offers an hourly rate of around £15 per hour. The position involves a blend of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, invoicing, and general accounting support. You will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records during a busy period. Key Responsibilities Raise customer invoices and credit notes Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate customer accounts Chase outstanding debts professionally and manage overdue balances Process supplier invoices and match to purchase orders Resolve invoice queries internally and externally Prepare and process supplier payment runs Complete supplier statement reconciliations Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations Assist with cash allocation and related financial entries Support with general ledger reconciliations as required Respond to finance queries from suppliers, customers, and internal departments Assist with filing, documentation, and audit preparation Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc duties and project tasks Skills & Experience Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar finance role Confident handling both AP and AR processes Strong understanding of invoicing, reconciliations, and basic accountancy principles Competent with Microsoft Excel and finance/accounting software Excellent communication skills and a professional approach Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines Able to work independently in a busy, office-based environment
