Job Overview

This job is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. We are committed to supporting our dedicated staff, so only current employees of the following organisations can apply:

We provide an opportunity to join a busy and hard‑working team in an ever‑changing environment. The individual will need to be physically fit and willing to take on any fast‑paced role from cleaning to food preparation to post delivery.


Main duties of the job

To provide a complete level of ancillary service to the Clinical Units within the hospital and health centre, reporting to the General Services Supervisor. This is a key post, vital to maintaining the organisation’s hygiene and control of infections.

We deliver community and hospital‑based care to improve people’s physical and mental health, and provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability. Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

* Experience of working in a care setting
* Experience of preparing and serving meals for a range of clients with different dietary requirements
* Good basic level of ability in Maths and English


Knowledge & Abilities

* Basic keyboard skills
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Ability to follow instructions and use equipment provided


Other Essential criteria

* Ability to work under pressure in a changing and challenging environment
* Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
* Must be physically fit and capable of lifting, pushing and bending
