As a Technical Producer you will play an important role in implementing our clients’ objectives. Working in collaboration with colleagues in the Integrated Production, Strategy & Planning, Creative and Digital disciplines, you will strive to deliver your project on time, on budget and on brief, every time.

You will play an integral part in championing your area of Technical Production expertise within the business, in addition to providing excellent service to our clients, ensuring commercial success for GPJ and the continued growth and development of your competency across the agency’s Integrated Production team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery

1. Management of projects, or technical production project areas, leading teams to deliver based on skill and experience for the client
2. Responsibility for the creation and ongoing management of production schedules, timelines and detailed event plans to ensure projects are on track, providing regular status updates to the Project Lead
3. Work with suppliers to obtain quotes for projects and oversee delivery on site
4. Development and management of production budgets, including post event reconciliation
5. Management of key suppliers, ensuring delivery of their project area is delivered within budget and to a quality in line with client and GPJ expectations
6. Briefing the creative team on project requirements and ensuring that the output from these teams falls within overall project timeline
7. Create RAMS documents and other health and safety documentation for all events
8. Accountability for the quality of projects delivered within your remit, including the provision of operational expertise to the client as required

Creative

9. Support the project cycle to ensure the creative and innovative ideas fulfil the client brief
10. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the creative process, recognising the importance of the strategic objectives and ensuring they drive the overall output
11. Attend key meetings to provide input / expertise related to production elements within your remit
12. Cross-agency collaboration to ensure an aligned approach for meeting client objectives

Talent Management

13. Understand and be able to communicate knowledge of the skill sets and abilities across the Integrated Production department
14. Demonstrate leadership attributes by supporting positive change, managing your workload, and striving for best practice
15. Ability to clearly communicate performance expectations to direct reports and line managers
16. Ability to nurture, grow and develop a team
17. Drive, support and champion learning and development where agreed and necessary

Client Relationships

18. Providing key project updates to project lead and clients via a mixture of different channels
19. Partner with the Executive Producers to provide counsel on deliverables, managing client expectations accordingly
20. Collaborate with Executive Producers to ensure we successfully meet the clients’ objectives and deliver great results

New Business Development

21. Support the pitch lead by managing all Technical Production elements of the pitch process
22. Responsible for providing timely, accurate support on RFP responses including budgeting and supplier liaison
23. Attend and present pitch presentations when required
24. Actively promote GPJ through best practice

Finance

25. Accountable for profitability all project deliverables within your remit
26. Ensure projects are consistently on brief, on time and on budget
27. Responsible for obtaining, reviewing and responding to vendor quotes, ensuring we are working with best in class partners and vendors, with regular negotiations to drive value, profitability and efficiency
28. Accountable for PO creation / distribution for your elements of the project
29. Support the Executive Producer with the timely and accurate management of budget reconciliations (often across multiple currencies)
30. Validate vendor invoices and managing change orders (including notifying the project lead)

Your Background, Skills & Experience

42. Strong project management skills and experience of leading on-site teams/ suppliers to deliver
43. Good understanding of AV needs for events – from conferences to expos
44. Good understanding of Power/Connectivity requirements to prepare briefs and liaise with suppliers
45. Good understanding of construction methods/materials for exhibitions, stage sets and activations
46. Good understanding of graphics artwork and print formats
47. Ability to interpret floor plans and build packs
48. Proficient in Google workspace and other software
49. Experience of managing complex project/s
50. Experience in developing budgets and timelines
51. Experience of working within a large project team, ability to lead on a particular workstream
52. Experience in conference, exhibitions and digital events
53. Experience of responding and delivering to clients with digital, social media or tech solutions
54. Strong presentation skills
55. Strong understanding of financial software
56. Relevant H&S qualifications would be an advantage IOSH
57. Experience of working internationally is an advantage
