We are looking for a proactive and organised People & Development Coordinator to join our team, with a strong focus on employee onboarding. This role is perfect for someone with HR experience who is passionate about creating a smooth, welcoming, and engaging experience for new colleagues, while also supporting the wider People & Development function.
You will play a key role in ensuring new starters feel supported, confident, and set up for success from the start, while contributing to HR processes across the employee lifecycle. This role is based at our regional office in Newton Aycliffe, supporting our people and development initiatives across the organisation.
Key Requirements
· Coordinate and deliver an effective onboarding and induction experience for new starters.
· Prepare contracts, offer letters, and onboarding documentation in line with policies and legislation.
· Support line managers with probation reviews and induction checklists.
· Maintain accurate employee records.
· Assist with safer recruitment checks, right-to-work compliance, DBS checks, and referencing (training provided if not experienced).
· Contribute to wider HR processes including recruitment, employee relations administration, learning & development support, and policy updates.
· Provide first-line HR support and advice to managers and employees in line with policies and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* Previous HR/People team experience (essential).
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
* A proactive, approachable, and solutions-focused attitude.
* Full UK Driving License required.
* Enhanced DBS will be required.
Desirable (not essential):
* Experience of onboarding and employee experience.
* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards).
* Experience with Safer Recruitment processes.
* Experience using HRIS/HR databases.
