Are you a proactive and driven individual with a passion for procurement? Our client, a leader in the Food, Beverage & Tobacco industry, is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support their dynamic procurement function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact!


Location: Orpington, Greater London
️ Contract Type: Permanent


What They're Looking For:



1. Experience:Minimum 2 years in a buying or purchasing role, with essential experience importing goods from outside the EU

2. Skills:



- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident in negotiating with suppliers and challenging costs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Key Responsibilities:


As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that products are planned, ordered, shipped, and delivered on time and at the right cost. Here's what you'll be doing:


Demand & Stock:



3. Work with the team to understand what we need

4. Turn demand into purchase orders

5. Spot stock issues early and help fix them



Purchasing:



6. Place orders with UK + overseas suppliers

7. Track orders and chase delays



Logistics & Imports:



8. Organise international shipments

9. Handle any transit or customs problems



Supplier Management:



10. Build good relationships with suppliers

11. Push for better pricing

12. Help review supplier performance



Cost & Improvements:



13. Look for ways to save money

14. Suggest better, smarter ways of working
