The Role:
The Aftersales Technician is responsible for providing technical support and service to customers after the point of sale. This includes diagnosing and resolving product issues, carrying out repairs and maintenance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the wider aftersales team to deliver a high-quality service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair products or equipment in line with manufacturer standards.
* Conduct scheduled servicing, maintenance, and inspections to ensure product reliability.
* Support customers with technical advice, guidance, and product knowledge.
* Carry out warranty and non-warranty repairs, ensuring correct documentation and reporting.
* Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with the Aftersales and Customer Service teams to resolve issues promptly.
* Escalate complex technical problems to senior engineers or manufacturers where required.
* Ensure all tools, equipment, and workspaces are maintained to a high standard.
* Deliver excellent customer service to build trust and long-term relationships.
* Participate in training to stay updated on new products, technologies, and best practices.
Specific Skills & Experience Required:
* Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Customer-focused with a professional and positive attitude.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* IT literacy (e.g., service reporting systems, Microsoft Office).
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mechanics, Electronics, or related field.
* Previous experience in an aftersales, service, or technical support role.
* Knowledge of [specific industry/equipment, e.g., automotive, machinery, electrical systems].
* Full valid driving licence (if field service is required).
* Manufacturer training or certification (desirable).
