About The Role
Private Networks Team in Wakefield, project engineer – operational engineering of all project activities. Assist with planning and resourcing of direct and subcontract labour, ensure health and safety compliance, production and review of RAMS & SSOW documents, review of design documents, produce bill of quantities, procurement of equipment and materials, arrange delivery to site.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and conduct periodic site visits of site-based staff and activities.
* Work with all staff and clients to ensure works are completed on time and to correct specifications.
* Arrange the delivery of project construction activities on HV & LV Electrical Distribution networks, including review and agreeing outage requirements, planning resources, and preparing RAMS and SSOW documents.
* Engineer delivery of project activities on HV & LV Electrical Distribution networks (including LV/HV assets, containment, cable installation, minor civils, switchgear/transformer refurbishments, cable fault rectifications).
* Respond to client emergency calls and work with the on‑call team to minimise client power‑down time, communicate technical requirements and costs.
* Proactively generate leads and opportunities for service expansion of Ipsum Power (Private Networks) Ltd.
* React to other leads from existing customers or in‑house.
* Upsell HV/LV services to existing customers.
* Produce RAMS and SSOW documentation and ensure job packs are high standard to enable timely site activities.
* Review design documentation, produce bill of quantities, arrange procurement of plant, materials and equipment.
* Undertake site visits to ensure works are advancing in line with schedules, mitigate risks, and maintain client satisfaction.
* Communicate with Project Managers, Planners, Site Teams and clients to assist in delivery of new and ongoing works.
* Liaise with Planning Team for labour requirements when required for project work.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
* HNC Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience operating in a commercial, multi‑divisional organisation.
* Detailed understanding of current HV/LV electrical installation techniques.
* Good knowledge of HV & LV switchgear, transformers and power assets in Electrical Distribution networks.
* Solid and up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances.
* Good knowledge of Health and Safety practice and Risk Assessment.
* Previous experience working in the High Voltage industry.
