Job Title: Mechanical Fitter / Switchgear Panel Assembler / Fitter (Data Centre) Are you an experienced mechanical fitter or assembler with a keen eye for detail? Do you have hands-on experience working with electrical panels and switchgear? We're looking for a skilled Switchgear Panel Assembler / Fitter to join a busy Data centre project in Slough, helping to assemble critical switchgear and switchboard panels within a state-of-the-art data centre in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid mechanical background who is comfortable working to precise specifications in a dynamic environment. What You'll Be Doing: * Accurately assembling and fitting switchgear and switchboard panels according to technical drawings and specifications. * Utilising a wide range of hand and power tools to ensure precise and high-quality assembly. * Working collaboratively within a data centre environment, adhering to all safety protocols and site-specific procedures. * Conducting quality checks on assembled panels to ensure they meet required standards. What We're Looking For: * Proven experience in mechanical assembly, fitting, or panel building, ideally within an electrical or manufacturing setting. * Familiarity with assembling switchgear, switchboards, or electrical panels is highly advantageous. * Proficiency with a variety of hand tools, including spanners, ratchets, screwdrivers, hammers, files, pipe grips, and more. * Experience with basic power tools like drills and grinders. * A strong understanding of precision and attention to detail. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or schematics. * Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. * Knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop or construction environment. Tools You Should Be Proficient With: Chalk line, spanner sets (8-24mm), 3/8-inch ratchet set (8-24mm), insulated screwdriver set, tape measure, boat level, Stanley knife, podger, hammer, rubber mallet, metal files (round/flat), metal drill bit set, pipe grips, large adjustable spanners, croppers, side cutters, Allen keys, and an extendable magnet.
