We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Project Management Office on a short term 6 month contract basis. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of contracted outcomes through robust compliance management, change control and adherence to governance processes.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the compliance of contracted deliverables and managing project changes.
* Ensuring all activities align with established governance frameworks.
* Managing and controlling the IT infrastructure across the delivery teams and liaising with VPS internal IT and partner IT colleagues.
* Proactively issuing Early Warning Notices (EWN) and Delay Notices to communicate potential risks, delays, or missed contractual dependencies to the customer.
* Collaborating closely with delivery teams, finance colleagues, programme partners, and stakeholders - including direct engagement with the Authority.
This is a dynamic role requiring strong communication, attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk and change management.
Skills:
* Experience in Government training / learning environments
* Working knowledge of MS office Suite, to include MS Project
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal business communication skills
* High attention to detail
* Have an awareness of technical sub - contract management
* Working independently or as a team with minimal oversight
* Strong independent judgement and decision making skills
* Identifying potential issues and present solutions to mitigate risk
* Be a critical thinker, a self starter and have the ability to work within a geographically dispersed matrixed organisation
* Be comfortable working in a dynamic project which has uncertainty and risk management at its core
Experience and Qualifications:
* Six Sigma
* Prince 2
* APM PMQ Certification or equivalent
* This role requires SC clearance
* Due to the nature of this role, previous experience as a risk / compliance manager would be advantageous
