Overview
Senior Theatre Support Worker in Emergency and Neuro Theatres – Exciting Opportunity to join a dynamic team providing high-quality patient care in fast-paced surgical environments alongside Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs).
You will work with the surgical team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care to patients undergoing surgery. This role requires confidence, composure under pressure, and the ability to think on your feet while prioritising tasks and maintaining excellent communication and teamwork.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work seamlessly within a team are essential. A mature approach to work will contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care.

* Previous experience working in an Operating Theatre is a must.

Responsibilities
* Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards.
* Assist patients to access and use toilet facilities or continence aids and achieve physical comfort.
* Assist in the positioning of patients in theatre and in the recovery area, ensuring pressure areas are protected and patient comfort is maintained.
* Work flexibly within theatre operations, including days, evenings and weekends.
* Undertake clinical duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies.
* Handle and store patient specimens safely, complying with Trust policy.
* Assist to maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and productive care environment compliant with hygiene standards.
* Maintain and develop own competence in accordance with Trust and local policy.
* Communicate and document information in a timely and appropriate manner.
* Actively resolve issues and complaints at local level and report outcomes to line manager.
