HGV Technician
Skilled and flexible HGV Technician with strong diagnostic capabilities required to join our team at Reading
A vacancy has arisen at our Reading location (RG2 0QX) for an HGV Technician specialising in Diagnostics and Repairs. You will be responsible for diagnostic appointments using our Manufacturer equipment as well as completing the repairs identified on our customers vehicles. Routine maintenance inspections, servicing & general repairs will also be required at times.
At Cordwallis Reading we work with 3 manufacturers – MAN Truck and Bus, Isuzu Trucks & Daimler Trucks – a 'can do' attitude is required to take on any task presented to you. We will also commit to developing you further to increase your knowledge of our Brands with in house and manufacturer training to ensure repairs are completed within manufacturer guidelines.
* On Target Realistic Earnings (OTE)* – £64,000 per annum
* Basic Salary up to £45,000 (Hourly rate of £21.63) depending on your experience to date
* Additional Shift Payment of £3,000 per year for working on our late shift.
* Basic hours are 40 per week
* In addition an achievable productivity bonus up to £6,000 per annum available on reaching targets (paid quarterly)
* Overtime readily available
* Weekends and outside of basic hours paid at 1.5
*
o OTE Based on working 1 in 3 Saturdays of 5 hours and 5 hours overtime per week – more is usually available.
This role is on our Split Shift (alternating weeks):
Shift 1: Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm (60 mins unpaid for lunch)
and
Shift 2: Monday to Friday 1pm – 10pm (60 mins unpaid lunch)
Plus Saturday Rota of 1 in 3 working from 7am – 12pm.

Preferred but not essential requirements
* Level 3 Qualification desired, however, we will consider time served applications over 5 years with proven experience
* HGV Diagnostic Accreditation from another Manufacturer is preferred.
* LGV/HGV/PSV Licence an advantage
* Roadside Assistance Training qualification an advantage
* Bus and coach experience an advantage
* IRTEC accreditation desirable but not essential.
