We’re currently recruiting for a Disrepair and Insurance Surveyor to join our Surveyor team. You’ll need a strong understanding of housing construction, maintenance, and building pathology.

Raven is here to make a difference, working as a team to build homes and change lives. We’re also ambitious: a sector-leader in carbon reduction, with commercial ventures and a focus on the future. But it’s not just what we do, it’s how we do it that sets us apart from other organisations and helps us create a great experience for our customers and one another.

Our culture statements form the principles for how we work and what we expect of one another whilst working together as One Raven.

• We Put Customers First in everything we do.

• We will Always Be Curious about how we can do better.

• We work together to Make It Happen.

What you’ll achieve in the role:

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure the safety, compliance, and maintenance of Raven Housing Trust’s housing stock by effectively managing legal disrepair cases and insurance claims.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage a caseload of legal disrepair and insurance cases from start to finish, ensuring timely and professional handling of each case

• Liaise with solicitors regarding legal claims, including preparation of any required documentation

• Inspect properties, diagnose issues, consult with customers, prepare specifications, and order/procure works and materials

• Deliver proactive, sensitive, and customer-focused service to resolve complaints, improve satisfaction, and ensure positive case outcomes.

What you’ll bring to Raven:

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

• Strong understanding of housing construction, maintenance, and building pathology

• Strong diagnostic and building surveying skills specific to housing stock

• IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and use of housing management systems

• Experience in a surveyor, property maintenance, or similar technical role

• Proven ability to manage and document property repair cases independently and accurately

• Full, clean driving licence.

You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better.

DBS clearance will be required for this role.

Vacancy Close Date: 11th July 2025

• Funded health cash plan
