OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
The Vehicle Prepper plays a vital role in ensuring vehicles are properly prepared for the painting process. Working closely with panel beaters, paint technicians, and other bodyshop staff, the Vehicle Prepper ensures that all vehicles are finished to a high standard, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of the bodyshop.
We are a busy bodyshop that carries out repairs on a wide range of vehicles, from cars to tractor units and trailers. Therefore, you must be comfortable with preparing, painting, and spraying both smaller vehicles and large commercial vehicles, adapting your approach as required.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare vehicles for painting by masking, sanding, and priming surfaces.
* Carry out filler work, sanding, and panel preparation to ensure a smooth finish.
* Clean, degrease, and remove dust/contaminants before paint application.
* Mask up vehicles with precision to protect areas not being painted.
* Assist paint technicians in colour-matching and finishing processes.
* Operate tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
* Follow all company procedures, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
* Work to deadlines and productivity targets while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
* Annual salary of £30,000
* A 40-hour working week - Monday to Friday 7am-4pm
* 29 days annual leave starting from 2026. Must be able to work Bank Holidays.
* An optional pension that begins after a 3-month period.
