Ensuring optimal routing of vehicles to meet customer requirements, legal compliance and organisational KPIs A fast-paced Transport Planning role - where you will be planning national routes consisting of trunking and final mile Working with freight forwarders and individual hauliers to ensure cost effective stock movements are resourced Work closely with warehouse, commercial, transport and customer service teams Responding to internal enquiries regarding route capacity to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled to the highest possible standards Working on cost reduction and service improvement strategies What are we looking for? Experience working in general haulage and with or as a freight forwarder Experience working with groupage solutions Able to negotiate under pressure to obtain the right service at the right price and time Experience working with a transport planning system Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Commercial acumen Working knowledge of legal compliance regarding transport (working hours etc.) Good geographical knowledge Able to work under pressure and prioritise activity Good communication skills Self-starter who is always looking for ways to improve the way we do things Ability to cope with rapid pace of change Can be relied upon to deliver to tight deadlines Strong Excel skills If you feel you match the above role, please apply by clicking below - We look forward to reviewing your application.
