WTG Inspector - Blades required for a major Offshore Wind Developer in France.
Responsibilities
Act as on-site quality and manufacturing representative at the WTG blade supplier facility in Le Havre, France.
Witness supplier manufacturing and inspection activities for WTG blades and add-on components.
Monitor manufacturing progress in line with the Manufacturing Inspection Plan (MIP), project production dates, and shipment schedules.
Participate in in-process and final inspections, including paint, add-on components, and final tagging.
Perform spot checks of production activities and associated manufacturing documentation.
Monitor product quality and participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
Verify Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics using digital inspection tools (e.g. LEP, VG, DT, Paint, LPS, LOPC).
Identify, document, and report non-conformities and observations using the Client Digital Inspection Tool.
Raise and follow up quality issues in the Client NCR system (Synergi).
Track trends related to repeated non-conformities and manufacturing deviations and follow up with the supplier on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Follow up on preservation and maintenance of blades and components in the supplier's storage areas.
Review quality-related as-built documentation for compliance and completeness.
Document daily inspection activities and report to the WTG Fabrication & Quality Manager.
Prioritise inspections of add-on components based on failure trends and criticality.
Observe and highlight relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) issues at the supplier site.
Requirements
Experience in WTG blade manufacturing, inspection, or quality surveillance, preferably within the wind energy sector.
Strong understanding of composite manufacturing processes and large-structure production.
Experience with quality inspection plans, manufacturing schedules, and supplier surveillance.
Familiarity with non-conformance management and corrective action processes.
Experience using digital inspection and NCR systems (Client tools or equivalent preferred).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to inspection.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with suppliers and project teams.
Willingness to work on-site at the supplier factory in France.
Awareness of HSE requirements in manufacturing and industrial environments
