We are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to support the installation, servicing, and repair of CNC milling machines, 3D printers, sintering furnaces, and other high-tech dental laboratory equipment across the UK.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service while working with cutting-edge digital manufacturing equipment.
Role Purpose
As part of our technical service team, you will:
* Install, commission, and maintain advanced dental CAD/CAM equipment.
* Carry out repairs under warranty and service contracts.
* Minimise customer downtime and provide expert technical support.
* Play a key role in enabling dental laboratories to deliver world-class digital workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
* Install, configure, calibrate, and test milling machines, 3D printers, and sintering furnaces.
* Train customers on safe use, daily care, and basic troubleshooting.
Maintenance & Repair
* Perform warranty service, fault diagnosis, and scheduled preventive maintenance.
* Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software-related issues.
* Replace and configure motors, heaters, sensors, control boards, and similar components.
Customer Support
* Deliver outstanding on-site service and technical advice.
* Build long-term relationships and ensure customers get maximum performance from their equipment.
* Escalate complex issues and liaise with manufacturers when necessary.
Reporting & Administration
* Complete service reports, warranty documents, and installation forms.
* Track spare parts usage and maintain stock records.
* Provide feedback to improve products and service processes.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer / Service Technician / CNC Engineer / Maintenance Engineer.
* Hands-on experience servicing CNC machinery, 3D printers, thermal equipment, or similar systems.
* Strong mechanical, electrical, and control systems troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving licence willingness to travel extensively.
Desirable
* Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar.
* Knowledge of dental CAD/CAM workflows and laboratory processes.
* Experience with additive manufacturing and furnace technologies.
* Familiarity with warranty service procedures and spare parts logistics.
