We are seeking a talented and proactive Designer to join our friendly team in Canary Wharf, working on seamless underwear, athleisure, and cut-and-sew styles.
As the Designer, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of innovative collections for white-label projects. Collaborating closely with sales, the in-house design team and global partners to bring products to life, the successful applicant will create and develop seasonal collections, ensuring impeccable fit and quality of the product and its technical capabilities from first sample through to delivery. Suitable applicants will have at least 3 years' work experience and have a keen interest in women’s underwear and activewear.
Full-time permanent or freelance will be considered for the right person.
Your Tasks:
* Responsible for the design research and development of seasonal white-label collections
* Conducting competitor product analysis, trend and market research
* Able to propose new concepts, key shapes, colour palettes and details to the team
* Highly competent at creating detailed technical packs using Adobe Illustrator with accurate measurements, technical drawings and construction comments
* Creation and management of the range plan and tech packs
* Excellent communication skills and be the main point of contact with the factory
* Attend meetings with buyers and present seasonal white-label collections
* Strong understanding of seamless technology along with cut & sew styles
* Work alongside the factory on sourcing and trim development
* Critical path management of designer owned areas
* Overseeing and managing important deadlines to align with seasonal launches and CAD/sample deadlines
* Deliver high-quality products from end to end with specific thought to fit, details and performance
* Manage fit sessions, record all comments and communicate these back to the factory
* Responsible for organising and storing samples and swatches for multiple customers
* Strong understanding of construction, fabrications and technicalities for seamless and cut-and-sew styles
* Coordinating and executing photoshoots with the rest of the team
* You may get involved in other aspects of the business, such as helping the team out at events or trade shows
* Getting involved in other ad-hoc tasks when needed
Profile:
* A degree in Fashion Design or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience in designing women's clothing
* Experience as main point of contact on key accounts (desired but not required)
* Experience developing both seamless and cut-and-sew styles
* A strong commercial approach
* Good at building and nurturing relationships with both existing and potential new suppliers
* Proficient with Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator
* Can manage multiple projects and timelines at once
* Good understanding and knowledge of apparel components and product costing
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated, responsible, detail-minded, well-organised, team-oriented and flexible
* Self-starter who will take initiative and get stuck in
