An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the production department where microwave ovens are assembled on a production assembly line. As Assistant Section Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the fascia line, a critical area responsible for assembling doors, control panels, and frames, as well as preparing components for three main production lines and the sealing area.
Your contribution will help ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output across the microwave oven production area, making you an essential part of our manufacturing success
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To support the Foreperson in overseeing daily activities within the Fascia/Prep area
* Provide cover for colleagues during toilet breaks to maintain continuous production and avoid line stoppages
* Perform duties of absent team members
* Conduct sealing repairs using the departments strip-down oven
* Perform repairs on fascia and door components using specialist tools and equipment
* Identify and process rejected parts due to vendor or in- plant damage. Maintain accurate daily records of rejects
* Inspect and verify the pressure gauge on the frame press prior to daily line start
* Supply materials and components to the production line as needed
* Following the daily production schedule, correctly kit and fit ribbons to fascia frames
* Access and follow all electronic work instructions
* Participate in initial and ongoing job training and refresher training
* Assist in annual stock check and perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and support material planning
Skills:
* Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is essential
* Ability to maintain high housekeeping standards and adhere to all safe systems of work and recycling guidelines. Always wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.
* Operate the departments strip down oven while adhering to safe working practices
* Demonstrate a dependable and proactive approach to work, consistently taking responsibility for tasks and showing initiative in problem solving
* Work effectively with colleagues and management, maintaining clear and respectful communication
* Should have a good understanding of their section with the ability to perform all jobs at line speed
* Ability to use a hand pallet/electric pedestrian truck
* Demonstrates good verbal communication.
* Maintain strong knowledge of product, parts codes and the fascia line processes.
* Capable of working on own initiative.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 13:00
