Role Description:
Deep is seeking an innovative, experienced, forward thinking, and creative Life Support Supervisor to join the DEEP Institute, Diving Team. This is a unique opportunity to input to our mission and pioneer the development of cutting-edge diving practices, and philosophies, in a unique operating environment.
The Life Support Supervisor will be a key role in the planning and execution of saturation diving operations and will supervise the saturation diving system at Campus.
Key Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:
Ensure compliance with all applicable local diving regulations.
Ensure full adherence to the DEEP Diving Management System (DMS).
Maintain compliance with recognised industry standards, guidance, and best practice.
Promote and safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of life support and diving team members.
Deliver shift briefings and toolbox talks to support safe and effective operations.
Act as 'Area Authority' for the Saturation System.
Ensure all life support equipment is maintained and verified as fit for purpose.
Confirm that dive team members are fully familiar with the chamber and saturation systems.
Ensure life support and dive team personnel understand and follow relevant procedures.
Maintain gas stocks and mixtures at appropriate operational levels.
Ensure saturation system consumables are maintained at required levels.
Oversee inductions and system familiarisation for life support team members.
Ensure accurate completion of shift handovers and chamber logs.
Plan, conduct, and record regular chamber drills and emergency exercises.
Ensure the Management of Change process is applied whenever required.
Monitor life support team performance and support the delivery of effective training and development.
Provide operational support to the training team as required.
Support the Diving Management Team in the ongoing review and development of the DMS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrable experience in Closed Bell Saturation Diving operations and projects.
Proven experience supervising saturation systems.
Experience in the commissioning, testing, and validation of saturation systems.
Experience in training, mentoring, and developing life support and dive team personnel.
Experience supervising operational dive team activities, including briefings and task coordination.
Practical experience in hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
Excellent communication skills with personnel at all levels.
Believes in making a transformational difference through high quality training.
Eager to develop future saturation diving professionals.
Highly motivated for the organisation, team, and shared objectives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
IMCA Life Support Technician.
Minimum of 5-year experience of Life Support Operations.
Valid IMCA LST logbook, detailing experience.
